Ron Miksha becomes a fellow you get to know in this book.  It is interesting to follow the learning experience from a beekeeper first hand.   This book is a history of Ron's life -- his experiences moving to Canada from a family background in Pennsylvania to get into commercial beekeeping.  This book reads like a novel with something new around each corner.  Anyone new looking to get into commercial beekeeping -- making 200 lbs. averages per hive and making a fortune -- should read this book from front cover to back cover.   Ron shares the harsh reality of living in the rich honey country of Canada.

I liked this book because It is written straight from the heart.  A fellow beekeeper will identify with Ron quickly because life is filled with challenges and the unknown.  He praises many who assisted him and made an impact on his life.  He also shares those moments when things were as he describes it a bit difficult to understand -- "I'd rather see a Canadian buy that farm." from the Saskatchewan chief apiary inspector-- On an American starting business in Canada.

If you are interested in Canada's rich honey producing areas, the kind of crops they get, problems, and almost anything else Ron experienced, then you should buy this book. I am glad to have it in my library.
